Goodbye 2000's, this is some of the music you introduced me to, thank you pt. 1

So we are headed into a new decade, time has come to look back at the things that we have done this past decade. I have to decide to do some post about some of the music that I can to know and love this decade. I will start with some of my favorite music in this first.

Bloc Party

Banquet

This is the first song of theirs that I heard, and from this moment on I was enthralled. This is a truly complete no one person truly dominates this band. While Kele and Russell definitely stand out, Gordon and Matt always hold their own. They make songs that just live you and you identify. You may not always know exactly what Kele is talking about but you always feel it.

One More Chance

Bat For Lashes

Whats a girl to do?

When I first heard this song I was drawn into. Natasha just hypnotize you with her voice in this. Bat For Lashes has that very eceltic sound that I love. Natasha seems to draw her songs from the spirits of nature around her and it definitely works.

Daniel

(Not the real video but still awesome).

Yeah Yeah Yeahs

Maps

Hearing the Yeah Yeah Yeahs can bring out so many different emotions in a person. This song will definitely pull some of them out of you. Karen O's voice is spectacular and to me Brian Chase is one of the best drummers ever.

Down Boy

Asian Kung-Fu Generation

Rewrite

The fist time I heard this band was while I was watching one of my favorite animes. There was just something about their sound. I can honestly say that I still have no idea what a lot of their songs are about or even what they mean in English, but that has not stopped me from listening to them. Hearing Masafumi Gotō scream in Japanese can be kind of awesome at times. Oh yeah they have a pretty good drummer in Kiyoshi Ijichi

After Dark

Linkin Park

Faint

This is the music that I listen to when I want to do something hype. If I was about to get into a fight I would want some Linkin Park to be. They always bring the energy. Chester just knows how to scream at people.

Place For My Head

(I could see a riot breaking out during this song)

Kings Of Leon

On Call

I just started listening to Kings Of Leon but they are definitely in my top five for groups of the decade. Their sound is so revolutionary. It comes from so many different places. There is definitely a little bit of everything in there. If you like it soft they can bring it soft or they can bring it hard if you need them to. And "Closer" is one of the greatest songs I have ever heard.

Closer

Silversun Pickups

Lazy Eye

Just starting listening to them a week ago. I have been wondering to myself how I neglected them. They get some comparison to Nirvana and I definitely see it. They pretty much have everything that you need. Including one of the greatest and most intense drummers I have ever heard Christopher Gualano. I have yet to hear a bad song from them, and it feels like I may not hear one.

Rusted Wheel

The Royal We

I may have posted one of this videos before but I felt like I needed to again, this band is awesome to the max.

Three Days Grace

Animal I Have Become

Another that when you hear them you want to do something insane. This is one of the many bands that I was introduced through anime and manga. This is one of those bands that knows how to scream you.

One X

And so ends part one, part two maybe coming over the weekend. So my question to you is what were your bands of the decade?
